Targeting the Ideal Fan by Defining Their 'User Persona'

Targeting the Ideal Fan by Defining Their 'User Persona'

A “user persona” is basically who you imagine your fans to be. With a little focus and analysis, you can determine the main characteristic traits of your ideal target audience. In this article, we’ll cover how to get more information about your fans and how to use that information to help you tailor your broadcasts and other content in a way that builds your brand and keeps your most generous fans loyal to you.

GATHER MEMBER DATA

If you learned that your fans are indeed ‘Stifler’s mom’ aficionados, play up that ‘sexy older woman’ vibe and watch them swoon until they have no choice but to take you private.

To analyze your fans as a user persona, you must first look at who they are. Did they find you randomly while browsing your site’s main page, or did they find you when they were looking for something specific? If your site doesn’t give you access to these stats, don’t be shy about asking members directly during chat or a private show. Just a simple, “So, what brings you to my room today?” can give you valuable information to help you better market yourself.

For example, if your visitors found you by searching the words “MILF” or “cougar,” then you know your main user base goes for attractive older women. Use this info to dive a little deeper. For example, if you ask members during free chat what their favorite movie is and the answers are overwhelmingly films like “American Pie” and “The Graduate,” then you know you’re on the right track. Even simple questions like “How old are you?” or “What year did you graduate high school?” can tell you a lot about who you’re chatting with.

TRACK YOUR RESULTS

This may sound a little tedious, but even if you hate graphs and spreadsheets, have no fear because those things aren’t necessary to track your fans’ details. Something as simple as jotting down notes about each member in your broadcaster, using a notes app or keeping other personal records can help you track the type of users your room attracts — and just what it is that makes them want to open up their wallets.

IDENTIFY YOUR USER PERSONA(S)

The great thing about camming is that there’s rarely just one type of user persona, so if all your data doesn’t fit into one type, don’t stress too hard about it. In the case of our MILF lovers, for example, if you’ve asked the right questions, then you’ve now figured out their age groups and favorite movies. That means it’s safe to assume you’re dealing with Gen X/late Millennial-age fans who fantasize about older women like Mrs. Robinson and Stifler’s mom. Alternatively, if your users favor films that star the likes of Salma Hayek, J. Lo and Sofia Vergara, then you know they’re into sexy, charismatic Latinas and can build a user persona based on that information.

TURN RESEARCH INTO REVENUE

Now that you have a good idea of who your users are and what makes them tick, it’s time to implement what you’ve learned in your webcam shows for maximum profit. For example, if you learned that most of your fans are into kink, incorporate some BDSM elements into your shows, so the people in your room are more likely to take you private. If you learned that your fans are indeed Stifler’s mom aficionados, play up that “sexy older woman” vibe and watch them swoon until they have no choice but to take you private because you’re the only one who knows how to give them exactly what they want.
